Team Memberships are our tried-and-true program for supporting organizations in implementation of best practices in stress injury risk management. The program includes training and guidance for all roles, including field responders (all personnel in high risk occupations), peer responders (those providing support to their peers), organization leadership and mental health clinicians.

Team Membership Program Objectives

Training for Field Responders

  • We believe all personnel working in high-risk occupations should received basic training on stress injury as a universal precaution. Our Universal Precautions Briefing for all personnel includes:

    • Awareness of stress injury as an occupational hazard

    • Stress Continuum for personal assessment

    • Identifying exposure to Potentially Traumatic Events

    • How to access support from the Peer Responders & Clinicians

Training for Peer Responders

  • Peer Responders (i.e. resilience teams, peer support) are the foundation of organizational stress injury mitigation programs. Training covers:

    • Basic structure, function, and best practices for their role

    • Leading stress continuum check-ins to support awareness within their organization

    • Operationalization of pro-resilience practices and the Incident Support Framework

    • Skills to support peers and/or provide connection to additional resources as needed

Training for Leadership

  • Leaders and managers play a critical role in organizational resilience, including managing major incidents and implementing resilience practices. Training for leadership includes:

    • Tools for leading a resilient and thriving workplace culture

    • Best practices for providing education and support for all personnel within the organization

    • Leadership's role within the Incident Support Framework

Training for Clinicians

  • Clinical mental health care providers play a critical role in stress injury support. We recommend organizations work with a licensed clinician to ensure personnel have access to support from a provider who understands their work. Training aligns clinicians with our guidance for organizations:

    • Common language on stress injury management

    • Use of the Responder Alliance Stress Continuum in clinical practice

    • Clinicians' role within the Incident Support Framework
